How 3CX pricing works
- One price for the whole system, not per user. 3CX charges a flat annual price set by how many calls can happen at the same time (simultaneous calls, which count internal calls too). Per-user figures on its page are, in its words, for demonstration purposes only.
- Annual only. The pricing page offers no monthly billing.
- Bigger systems cost less per call. 3CX takes 10% off at 24 simultaneous calls and up, and 15% at 256 and up, plus another 10% on renewals of three years or more from 24 calls.
- Calls are extra. SIP trunks, the lines that connect 3CX to the phone network, are chosen separately from the license, and 3CX does not price them.
- Hosting is optional. Have 3CX host it for the annual fee above (free for up to a month during the trial), or self-host on Windows or Linux on Amazon, Digital Ocean, Azure or Google. 3CX does not price self-hosting or partner hosting.
- Buying. 3CX's FAQ says you can buy from a 3CX Partner. Each account gets one PRO trial; the trial length is not stated.

3CX or a per-user phone system?
Per-user systems such as Zoom Phone ($16 a user a month on annual billing) or Nextiva ($15 on a 12-month term) bundle calling into the seat price. 3CX's license price does not include calls, but it does not grow with each new employee either: you pay by how many people talk at once. If few of your staff are on the phone at the same time, that can work out cheaper; add the SIP trunk and hosting costs before you compare.
